About us

Since 2011, the Center for Brain & Spine has been providing compassionate, individually tailored, comprehensive neurosurgery to patients in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and worldwide.

We are dedicated to offering patients access to some of the most advanced surgical treatments and procedures – always using the least invasive approach necessary and available. However, whenever possible, we look to treat conditions conservatively with nonsurgical therapies.

The Center for Brain & Spine’s medical director and board-certified neurosurgeon, Dr. Amin Amini, has been routinely named to Washingtonian’s list of Top Doctors in Neurosurgery. He specializes in treating brain and spine tumors, traumatic brain and spine injuries, stroke, hydrocephalus, degenerative disc disease, back pain and sciatica, and multiple other conditions.

Our main office is conveniently situated in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland, and we have satellite locations in Laurel, Largo, Rockville, and Bowie.

Telehealth

The Center for Brain & Spine offers appointments via video or phone call (including FaceTime) for current and new patients. Video and phone call appointments with one of our board-certified neurosurgeons allow patients to connect in real time with one of our providers without having to visit one of our physical offices. To request a video or phone call appointment, please call us at 301-585-7900. A team member will assist you in scheduling an appointment with one of our providers and share details with you regarding our telehealth options.

Please keep in mind that just as with in-person visits, video and phone appointments may require receipt of your imaging before your scheduled appointment.  In addition, some neurosurgery conditions may require that you be seen in the office.

“My approach is to treat the patient first, then the illness. I listen to and educate each patient before we, together, decide on the appropriate course of treatment"

Amin Amini, MD, MS, FAANS
